Session 1 – Welcome to Administration!
The Associate Deanship is often a first full-time administrative role, so the transition from faculty responsibilities to full-time administrative work can feel abrupt–without much onboarding or support. In this session, we will explore the realities of navigating that transition, from understanding what the role of an Associate Dean actually entails, to adjusting to changing relationships with colleagues, balancing administrative responsibilities with teaching, managing the dynamics of reporting to a supervisor, and even wondering, “When is my Spring Break?”
