The Neurodiversity Alliance’s Introduction to Neurodiversity – ND 101 session introduces participants to the strengths, diversity, and lived experiences of neurodivergent students while exploring practical strategies for creating more inclusive learning environments. Facilitated by a neurodivergent member of The Neurodiversity Alliance team, this presentation combines personal storytelling, research-informed practices, and actionable tools to help educators, student support professionals, and community members better understand the barriers neurodivergent students face and how to help students overcome those challenges.

Carly Priest is the National Program Director at The Neurodiversity Alliance, where she leads an all-neurodivergent program team and oversees the strategic design, development, and delivery of programs. Her work spans programs such as The Neurodiversity Alliance’s Club network, the Eye to Eye Mentoring Program, Ambassador initiatives, internships, and scholarship programs, ensuring meaningful opportunities for connection, leadership, and growth.

● A strengths-based, non-medicalized introduction to neurodiversity, terms and definitions, and a look into the wide range of ways individuals learn, think, and experience the world.

● Exploring the intersectional diversity within the neurodivergent community and the many identities and experiences it encompasses.
● Supporting students to build leadership, self-advocacy and other critical skills to successfully navigate academic, career, and social settings.
● A personal journey to empowerment through the facilitator’s lived experience as a neurodivergent student and professional.
